Tonami Clan Park and Blueberry Picking

We spent a hot, sticky, August afternoon picking blueberries and enjoying Tonami Clan Park with friends. Tonami Park has a re-created village area, depicting life in Northern Japan during the late 1800s. We mostly came to the park in order to picnic near the fun wooden playground, and take a few rides around the go-cart track.

Just a short walk down from Tonami Clan Park, is a small blueberry farm. You pay a certain amount in order to be able to pick berries. You can eat as many berries as you want while you pick. If you want to take berries home you get them weighed when you are done picking, and pay according to the weight. I don't remember how much it was total for us, or if it was a particularly good deal on blueberries, but we had a fun experience and came home with lots of fresh blueberries.
