Kuji Amber Museum

This is a continuation from my previous post, about our trip to Ryusendo Cave. Before heading back to Misawa, our tour took us to the Kuji Amber Museum.

Our trip took us along the coast and gave us this beautiful view of the Pacific. This area was hit by the tsunami in 2011 and we could see that the area is still recovering.

At the amber museum we were able to make our own amber pendants. We had to file them into a tear-drop shape and then sand and polish them smooth. I learned that amber smells good.

You can see the model pendant in the cup in this picture. None of ours looked this good. ;)

Once we finished our craft we were able to walk through he museum before heading home.

Seth definitely covets these chess sets. Made completely out of amber!

Who knew that amber came in so many shades and that you could do so much with it? Beautiful!

Apparently laying on this amber is supposed to be cleansing or something.

We had such a fun trip and saw so many beautiful things!
