Asamushi Aquarium

On our next ITT tour, we visited the Asamushi Aquarium. Our trip included a dolphin show at the Aquarium, time to explore the Aquarium on our own, and a stop at the Goshogawara Mall.

The Aquarium is in this pretty little bay with this very interesting island. We loved the view and hope to make a trip back up to explore the area on our own.

The dolphin show was really fun and we had great seats. Because of our fantastic tour guide, we were able to be in the front of the line to get into the show. We got seats front and center, but just far enough back to not get splashed. :)

We also had fun at the touch area at the aquarium. Unlike most aquariums in the US (which make you touch softly with two fingers only), we were able to pick up and hold any of the creatures in the area, which was a lot of fun for the kids.

Finally we were able to watch the dolphin feeding, which was like a mini dolphin show. Then we were able to watch the dolphins swim around in the viewing area before we headed back to the bus.

  1. WHOA! That's an awfully cool aquarium! Like, seriously rivals Shedd in Chicago. You guys are taking really neat trips over there!
