Homelessness and Saying Goodbye to Dayton

After the movers took all our stuff, we spent four days as squatters in our house. We slept on air mattresses, used our old piano bench as a dining table, and spent a lot of time wishing we had something to sit on.

C didn't seem to mind too much.

Since hanging around our house wasn't very enjoyable, we spent some of our time saying goodbye to Dayton. We visited one of our favorite parks on a gorgeous sunny day.

Indian Riffle Park:

We had always wanted to visit the 2nd Street Market, in Dayton, but never got around to it. Turns out it's probably not the most kid friendly activity, but we still enjoyed eating yummy food and having a last adventure with friends.

We were also able to check Sweet Pea's Homemade Popsicles off our Dayton Bucket list.

 C approved!

Finally we were able to move into a hotel (because the Military started paying for it). We stayed in a two room suite at the Drury Inn. It may have been a lot less square footage, but it sure felt like an upgrade to us.

Goodbye House!

Hello Hotel

With all the time we've spent in hotels in the last few weeks, both of our kids have learned how to swim without floaties. Buying these goggles was the first step.

We spent five days in the hotel and then it was time to re-pack our suitcases and get on a plane to Seattle.

  1. Dude, you are WAY too casual about the feat you accomplished by staying in an empty house for four days. Like, "Yeah, we didn't have anything, no big deal..." HOLY CRAP IT IS SUCH A BIG DEAL!!! But that's a big deal for an adult alone, but with three kids, including a toddler? WHOA. You're Awesome, up one side and down the other, AWESOME.
